1) Has anyone ever used or put their pet in the kennels ...I am coming to Orlando for 4 days/3 nights on 7/30 to 8/2 with my small 7 yo daughter and 76 yo grandmother and 12/24 to 12/27 with just me and my daughter. I found out that the pet cost is $10/day. Below I have a sample itineary planned out, please ellaborate on what you think i should keep or change. My plan is (for August trip):
day 1-check in around 4pm and head to seaworld around 5ish (is that cutting it short?)
day2 - do the time share tour and head to US/IOA all day (this is where the kennel comes in)
day 3- Epcot most of the day (something not too exciting but calm also that a 7 yo and 76 yo would enjoy)
day4- check out 830ish, have breakfast from 830ish to 930ish, tour int%26#39;l drive from 930ish to 11ish, go Downtown Disney from 11ish to 3ish, and head str8 to MCO (airport) for flight leaving at 545pm
what do you think about that? Is that an okay schedule. Would Epcot be good enough for daughter and grandmother. I don%26#39;t want nothing to exciting (though me and my daughter love to ride) but I want my grandmother to feel included.
2)Regarding trip in Christmas, I heard this is the best time to go to water parks...is that true? Wouldn%26#39;t it be cold (I am coming from Boston, MA)? the schedule would be a little different though:
day 1- check in and DD
day 2- MK all day
day 3- water park BB or TL (or even both) until 4pm and then Epcot the remainder of the day
day 4- check out, have breakfast, i thought about some putt-putt golf (would it be too cold for that too). Flight doesn%26#39;t leave until 5ish also.
I would really appreciate if someone can give me some insight on this issue. thank you and happy trails!
Two part question....
Plan 1...........Your not going to see everything at Seaworld even at that time of the year when the park is open late some of the shows still end early 6-7 PM.
Universal/IOA....That time of year its hard enough to try and get to see everything at one park and you want to try and get them both in, not going to happen. Plus your losing time in the morning for a Time Share tour.
What day of the week is day 4? Leaving DTD at 3 ish, if this is a workday traffic is starting to pick up at this time you may want to leave a little bit earlier.
Plan 2....Is ok but BB is going to be closed that time for rehab.
Two part question....
Thanks...We are not planning to do a whole bunch a rides. At least the Jaws, ET, Shrek etc (my daughter and grandmother are really into those 3-D rides)...we can cut out SW on day 1 and just probaly do the pool and ride Int%26#39;l Drive. for day 2- again more 3-D shows and some rides for my daughter or something we all can enjoy, like the Dinosaur ride in AK at WDW. Day 3 will stay the same...we only did Soarin%26#39; there, but this time I really want to tour the different worlds. Day 4 after breakfast we can go down town Disney and shop for a few hrs (1-2). The days goes as follows: Day1 (Mon), day 2 (Tues), Day 3 (Wed), and Day4 (Thur)....
for my second trip...the same days Mon-Thurs...what about TL, will that be open around Christmas. I was told that was the best time to go since crowds are low and temp is about right.
Also, the kennel idea. What can I do with my precious Maltese?
If your only going to do select rides at the parks you can do a park in a day. In fact we only do select rides any more and we do 3 parks in a day.
TL will be open at that time of year, they only do rehab on one water park at a time.
I don%26#39;t think you have a chose on what to do whit the dog, he has to be kept somewhere while your at the park
As far as the kennels go....please do yourself and your dog a favor and leave her home with a pet sitter or find a good boarding facility near your home. The theme park kennels are VERY, VERY basic. It is a wire cage for the dogs to sit in. There are people at the facilty...but they ONLY check people and dogs in. They do NO care for the animals at all. What that means is you must come back to the kennel and take your dog out for potty time and give it water and food. The kennels are not open 24 hours so you would also have to find a hotel that accepts pets.
A boarding facility near your home can provide 24 hour care and do all the care for your animal and then you can enjoy your vacation knowing she is in good hands.
For your itnerary....
Day 1 - I would not spend the money on Sea World tickets if you can only use them for a few hours. You might be better served just going to somewhere like Downtown Disney and having dinner there and then getting to bed early and rested for the next day.
Day 2 - Depending on when your time share presentation is done.... and mind you...they tell you 90 minutes..but plan on 2 hours minimally. August will be VERY hot and humid. You%26#39;ll need plenty of water and sunscreen. Both parks can be done in 1 day but it will be an all day feat and you must pace yourself because of the heat and crowds during summer.
Day 3 - no problems...should be able to easily enjoy EPCOT...again...pace yourself and allow for rest periods. Especially for the older person in your group. EPCOT is one of those places that there really is something for everyone. So no worries about all in your party to enjoy themselves.
Day 4 - I would just plan on doing the outlets....you can easily spend a whole week there shopping.
Please remember that during this time frame, the parks will be very crowded and the heat and humidity can take it%26#39;s toll.
For your return trip at Christmas.....
The only word of caution I would give you is your day 2 at the water parks. That time of year can be hit or miss with the weather....it could be very cold or very warm. Also...if it is warm enough to enjoy a water park....if you are planning on being there all day...I don%26#39;t know if the little one will have enough energy for a theme park on top of that. You may want to plan an alternative theme park and have that be the bulk of the day with a few hours spent at a water park if it is feasible.
Just you make sure that your frozensmoke nails are in good condition when you go on vacation and they%26#39;re as sharp as your (Maltese) falcon%26#39;s claws. If you take a big bag with you, you could put him/her in it and take it with a you on a few rides. Looks like you%26#39;re pretty well organised for your trip and at least you have a plan which many forget to implement before they go
