Anyone sold unused days on tickets?

Last year we went to Orlando and as well as seeing the many places offering exceptionally cheap theme park tickets for sale (I know these should be avoided, timeshare presentation etc) there were a few that offered to buy partially used tickets off you.

I will probably visit Disney for 5 days out of my 18 day holiday this year and was planning on buying a Premium 7 Day ticket (it%26#39;s the same price as a 7 day ticket). Would it be worthwhile purchasing a much longer ticket as the cost is only slightly more and would these people who buy them off you give a much higher price?

Has anyone done this and how does the guy buying the ticket know how long is left on it??

I wouldn%26#39;t chance buying tickets from these types, but I%26#39;m happy to sell to them.

Hi

We actually did BUY tickets off a man selling on unused days last year and it worked out fine. We bought a one day ticket giving access to both Universal parks for about $40 each i think and got in the parks with no problem! We%26#39;re planning on doing it again this year as we only want to visit a few parks, so it%26#39;ll save us money.

Be very careful buying tickets of someone that has unused days as they now finger print everyone going into the parks and can tell if the ticket is yours.

hbusby, what happened when you had to use the finger scanner?

Last year my girlfriend%26#39;s finger scan never matched up to the original scan she provided. They just got her to sign in and I thought that it wouldn%26#39;t be much of a problem if we had bought partially used tickets as you can still get in, but still I%26#39;m a bit unsure.

Hi Polly

How long have they been doing this fingerprinting for? We went last March and didn%26#39;t have any problems. We bought some tickets %26#39;legitimately%26#39; from Disney - but I can%26#39;t remember if we were finger printed or not now.

Helen

We went to universal - not disney. Do universal fingerprint too? We definitely had no problems!

Post a message for nickdolphins. He knows a location where you can buy and sell them.

Mine was from %26#39;Bobby%26#39;s Attractions%26#39; - near a pizza hut on the 192. (Very glamorous location!) I hope people don%26#39;t think its dishonest of me to buy them - just saves a littl money along the way!

We went to Universal last January and February and they had the scanners then. I%26#39;ve heard on this forum MANY times about ';don%26#39;t buy used tickets, you can%26#39;t use them due to the finger scanners';, but not many people that have actually been unable to enter the park. Is it more of a scare tactic from Disney and Universal than an actual way of preventing access.

As gliders says, its more scare tactics than anything else. At the end of the day, disney has already had the money from the tickets from the original seller and people buying the ';extra'; days are extra customers in most cases as they wouldn%26#39;t be able to afford the full price tickets. More people through the gates means more money for disney/universal on food, gift sales etc.

As for the reliability of the scanners, they never seem to work for me even on fully purchased tickets, but I still get in. They sometimes ask you to sign but never check that you have. If you intend on selling the tickets on - don%26#39;t sign the back if at all possible.

Gilders,

There is no %26#39;chance%26#39; at all buying them :) I went with my parents to Epcot for $35 just before XMas and Sea World around the same price...........

I really dont understand why more people dont mention about buying used tickets on this site - maybe as its seen as being a little %26#39;naughty%26#39;, lol!!!
