Church Street Station

Is there anyone who remembers the good old days?

Rosie O%26#39;Gradies, Cheyanne Saloon? etc from the Church Street Station of maybe 8 or more years back - I was just wondering whether this area had been remodelled or completed (it was still %26#39;under development%26#39; last time I was there).

I have to say, I thought this was one of the livelier and more original places for entertainment - I%26#39;ve still got a Rosie O%26#39;Gradys drinks glass somewhere (a Flaming something if I remember right).

Any news? Is it worth revisiting if it%26#39;s been redeveloped? Or is it less %26#39;touristy%26#39; now?

Church Street Station

Big fat bump

Church Street Station

I have a vague memory of this place... where exactly is it?

We thought it was fun too, but I think I read on here before that it%26#39;s no longer there.

the chruch street station as you knew it is toast

i haven%26#39;t been down there for a loooong time but, and someone can correct me, the old church street station part now has at least one restaurant, some office space, club paris (soon to change names),

here is the link for the new area

www.churchstreetevents.com/index_about.cfm

there are still a number of bars and restaurants closer to orange ave

it was bought by lou pearlman (boy band promoter...back street boys, etc) and some investors...they were supposed to / are / could be putting recording studios down there and he moved all of his offices down there too....i think he got some coin from the city to redevelop but has gotten a lot of bad press lately about himself and his company http://www.t-con.com/

i had some large times down there when it was in it%26#39;s heyday

Thanks jt

Me too, in its heyday. I guess there was too much competition from down the road, or perhaps it was difficult to persuade tourists to travel the extra distance from the sanctity of I-drive etc.

Fond memories though, interesting to wander round and excellent entertainment. Hope something good happens with the new project.

pleasure island and citiwalk kinda killed it....b4 they opened, church street was really the only one stop place like that and the downtown bar scene at that time was fairly non existant....unlike today

I went to Church Street Station once with a girlfriend and we enjoyed a wonderful meal, saw the can-can girls at Rosie%26#39;s and watched some brilliant line dancing - I love to see it done properly.

The next time I took my husband - thought he would enjoy it - but he wasn%26#39;t impressed so we never went again. I was sorry to hear it had closed though.
