How difficult is it to drive and park at Magic Kingdom? I will be staying at a condo and will be driving myself and a 2 year old, so I need all the tips I can take. Also, what other places would you recommend for a 2 year old? We will only be there 3 nights, so we will probably only be able to visit 2 parks, maybe 3? I was considering Animal Kingdom as the 2nd choice, what do you think?
Driving to Magic Kingdom
Hmmm... Would have been helpful to know w h e r e you have the condo... :-)
But anyway... if you hit I4 then you can麓t do anything wrong!
There are big b i g signs and different exits...
I would suggest exit 64 and then look for the signs to magic kingdom!
You will end at the parking lot (pay 10 bucks) and then you have to cross the seven seas lagoon from the TTC (Transportation and Ticketing Center)... Take monorail or ferry boat!
(I would go there with ferry and back with monorail so you did both!:-))
for the second park with a 2 yo i wouldn麓t go to epcot...
if he/she likes animals the animal kingdom
if he/she likes shows the mgm...
Driving to Magic Kingdom
Yes, driving in Orlando in the tourist areas isn%26#39;t bad at all, except for rush hour traffic. There are signs everywhere telling you how to get to the various parks, so no need to worry. Magic Kingdom is the ';furthest'; park away on the Disney campus, so it will be the longest drive ';into'; the Disney area.
Animal Kingdom would be a great second choice for your child if he/she likes animals. Lots of shows there too with animal characters.
Another choice may be SeaWorld. Again, lots of animal shows and hands-on experiences with the sea critters. There%26#39;s also a nice section of ';kiddie rides'; near Shamu%26#39;s stadium the child would enjoy.
beachlova,
We took our middle child when he was two and I would say that you should at least consider SeaWorld. It is very family friendly and not as crowded the best I can remember. We are going back next mos and our baby is now 2. Oh, one more thing Universal has the Barney show. I don%26#39;t know if it would be worth it to you to pay the price of admission just to see Barney but it is a really cute show. Our kids have always been big Barney fans so we just couldn%26#39;t miss that.
Have fun!
Can you please clear something up? I was under the impression that to get to the parks, you had to park at the Ticket %26amp; Transportation Center and then take the rail/boat/bus. Can you park at the individual parks?
yes, you can...
Animal, epcot and mgm have their own parking...
TTC is at the parking lot for Magic Kingdom....
:-)
Oh, OK. Thanks!
beachlova, I noticed on your other post that you were asking about Floridays and the Fountains and Star Island Resort. Here%26#39;s, imho, the best way to get to Magic Kingdom from these places:
The Fountains/Floridays Resort: Take a right out of the resort onto International Drive South. Take International Drive South as far as you can go, until you come to the 417 interchange, then take a right (don%26#39;t get on 417). This road is 536 (crosses 535) and will take you right into Disney. After passing Epcot on the left, take the exit for Magic Kingdom (which ultimately goes to the right), and you will come to the parking gates.
Star Island Resort: go right out of the resort onto US 192 (the main busy road). Take a left on 535, then go a couple of miles (you will pass a Super Wal-Mart on the left and Lake Buena Vista Outlets on the right). When you get to 536 (7/11 on the corner), take a left, and that takes you into Disney, and take the Disney exit after passing Epcot.
Of course you may end up staying somewhere else, but if you stay at or near these places, I feel the 536 route into Disney is the best. You will skip some traffic by going that way; US192 and the area by Downtown Disney can get backed up at times with tourists.
This route into Disney is also the best way for people coming from the I-Drive area on I-4 It is the Epcot/Downtown Disney exit. Even though Magic Kingdom is not marked on it, it is shorter than going all the way down to the exit marked ';Magic Kingdom';, where you get off on 192 West. If you do that, you are goint a longer way as you are going farther south to get to Magic Kingdom, which is located in the very north part of Disney. To get to Animal Kingdom and MGM, going west on I-4, the best exit is the Disney Wide World of Sports exit.
Correction: when in Disney as mentioned above, take the Magic Kingdom exit after passing Epcot.
I am looking at a sat. photo of MK.
If I%26#39;m coming up w Seven Seas Drive, do I turn left into what looks like a big parking lot and then walk back across seven seas drive to the monorail / ferry station?
I wouldn%26#39;t personally worry about ';left here, right there';.
You can%26#39;t miss the signs - stick with them and you won%26#39;t go wrong.
