Has anyone stayed at Barefoot Beach Condo on Manasota Key?

I%26#39;ve found a new condo building called Barefoot Beach on Manasota Key. Has anyone been there or vacationed on Manasota Key? If so, please describe your experience. Are there shops/restaurants in walking distance? Places to rent/ride bikes or water activities? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Have not stayed at this resort but have been to Manasota Key. The area is beautiful and close to shopping, restarurants, etc. We have stayed up %26amp; down the gulf coast and this area is our favorite. We dont stay right on the beach, we rent a vacation home in nearby Rotonda West. For us and our 2 daughters this surpasses staying in a resort. You have privacy, plenty of space, and your own pool. We love the beach, but we find we spend most days relaxing and swimming in the pool right at our ';villa';.

The Englewood area is great and where ever you decide to stay, I%26#39;m betting you%26#39;ll fall in love with it too!

Thank you for your reply. What is the shelling like there? Do you have a favorite house that you%26#39;ve rented? I saw some posted on the for-rent sites, but hard to know what the surrounding houses are like or how busy the drive to the beach would be. Thank you for your information!

sammybyron,

We stayed at Barefoot Beach this past July for two weeks. The condo is approx. 1.5 years old. The beach is 50 yards from the building. All linens were supplied, small kitchen appliances etc. There are several restaurants within walking distance, Stump Pass Park is ~ 1/2 mile south and there is a place to rent jet ski%26#39;s, boats a short drive from the condo. Our rental agent was Jan Lee, Manasota Key Realty. We have already booked a stay for July 2007.

A great place to relax!!!!

Thank you for your info. It sounds fantastic!

Kathy

When are you commimg to Englewood? Just to let you know the bridge is closed now for construction. It is not expected to reopen until after October 14, 2006. This is a real inconvienance.

Yes we found Barefoot Beach on Manasota Key Florida one year ago and we are heading back for more. My family takes annual trips to Florida, usually twice a year we travel there now for the last 5 years or so and we LOVE Manasota Key!

The condos (beachside) at Barefoot Beach condos is the best place to stay in the area with other buildings currently being built by the same builder. The only draw back at barefoot beach condos is where the pool is located and it%26#39;s small. You won%26#39;t find much better places though and the view is spectacular! The entire beach area just in front of the condo is on a shallow surface as far as you can see, no deep dips and no second sandbar because the land just gradually slopes down under the water so that your entire view on a clear day is nothing but light green crystal clear water. email me for photos.....lkdawson@bellsouth.net

The real estate agent that we used was JEAN with Gulf Realty. Jean was SOOO nice that when our trip came up last year (after we already sent in our deposit) and it was the week of our trip she called us to tell us DON%26#39;T COME! IT was red tide and without hestitation she said she would put our check back in the mail to us and see us another time when the red tide was gone. We are going back Spring Break! Thanks Jean! She saved us from a BAD experience with Red Tide!!

What a bargain too, anywhere from $1200-1700 you get a 3 bed 2 1/2 bad 2400 square foot condo with double connecting balconies off the den and master bedroom with another balcony off the kitchen in unit #402 penthouse. The Stumpass Beach park is just a short walk up the beach and sharks teeth galore!!

Since our visits to Florida we%26#39;ve come across some pretty BAD food in most places we%26#39;ve gone, however the food, no matter where we ate, in Manasota Key was good and sometimes excellent. Grocery shopping at Publix is a ten minute drive and the Boca Raton historic shopping is just across a bridge with a $7 toll, OUCH! Good thing we go for the beach.

This place is NOT for the thrill ride, go cart, movie theater, fun crowds....this is a quiet, neighborly, slow paced enviroment for the beach bumb ultimate experience of shallow water.

Well that%26#39;s about all I can think of. We love Manasota Key Beach for it%26#39;s beauty and friendly atmosphere and we love places like Siesta Key Beach for fun and excitment.
