2007 Spring Break

Planning a trip to Siesta Key with a group of 18 yr old spring breakers. Any suggestions for things to do for nightlife? Looking for places that will not restrict the 18 yr olds from enjoying some music and dancing. Is there much of a Spring Break party crowd on the beaches during the day?

2007 Spring Break

I have never considered Siesta Key a spring break kind of town.

The police here do not put up with much nonsense.

The beaches are wonderful, but there is limited nightlife for 18 year olds.

2007 Spring Break

I think you may find more of the atmosphere you want up in the panhandle region or maybe over in Daytona. Siesta Key is primarily a family vacation destination.

Please , please don%26#39;t think of bring a party of %26#39;Springbreakers%26#39; any where near Sarasota. Any noise at night is simply not tolerated.....last year a party of three twenty somethings were quietly asked to leave our resort on Lido for persistantly playing a radio beside the pool and swimming %26#39;enthusiastically%26#39; at ten thirty!

Thank you for the feedback!

We are looking forward to enjoy the beautiful beach and some shopping!

Is nothing sacred???

Yes, definitely do not go to Siesta Key. You will have a much better time in Daytona or in the Key West areas.

I have been coming to Siesta Key for over 15 years now. I can tell you there is not much to do at night for 18 years olds who are looking for a place to dance. If they are looking for the more traditional crowded, with lots of stupid people spring break then by all means have them go to Panama City, or Daytona Beach.

That being said, don%26#39;t let the crotchety old people who are telling you in this forum not to come to Siesta Key for spring break discourage you from coming. Any social teenager can find lots of fun things to do on this island. There will be many others around there age who will be having fun being a teenager. As I said before I have been coming here for over 15 years and have made friends of all ages here. When I was there age we used to hang out on the beach, play guitar, hang out on peoples balconys, and make new friends.

I don%26#39;t know of any place in Florida that would be tolerant of anyone blasting music all night, and acting like idiots. I have had my share of complaints about our group being loud and it is almost always due to the older crowd not letting kids be kids. You will get that anywhere. In conclusion I think your group would have a wonderfull time in Siesta Key, and find plenty of fun things to do.

You will find what ever you want for your crowd. There is plenty of nightlife and the resturants in the village and the village itself will be packed for spring break. You can rent scooters and cruise the island or move from beach access to beach access.

There will be tons of kids around for spring break on the beach, dpending on when you come. Most are using the grand parents ro parents condos and having a good time.

The police are present, but they don%26#39; t hassle you unless you are being an idiot, drinking underage on the beach, or affecting some else%26#39;s ability to enjoy the beach.

Siesta Key and Sarasota in general are not exactly South Beach Key West or Daytona, but there are good times to be had for everyone, but it a much more laid back scene.

If you are looking for beer bongs and bikini contests, this probably isn%26#39;t your best option.

Thank for your the encouraging feedback. The kids were offered to go to Panama City, South Padre, Cancun, Cruise however they choose Siesta Key. Their goal is to have a great time together, with no distractions from the %26#39;stupid%26#39; springbreakers.

They are a good group of kids, looking for a place to hang with each other on the beach, make new friends, shop, and come home with a nice tan and lasting memories.

I was a little taken by the negative comments, however I understand why they would want to protect their paradise.

I loved the Crescent beach area. You will have a great spring break if you are just a bunch of fun loving kids and if you have your own group, you don%26#39;t need much more. The water and sand are to die for. I know we always think negatively of ';spring Breakers'; but I know some awesome high school college kids who are ';stupid';.

So come enjoy! I dont know about the night life.. I just love the beach. I hope to get there in April again this year. I was there last April.
