We have guests arriving today, and after a few meals of seafood I expect them to ask, where can we get a good steak. I know Michaels and Commodores enjoy great reputations, but is there someplace a little less expensive?
Also, what is the deal about goingover to Sunset Key for lunch? Cost? Is the food any good?
Steak in Paradise
Duffy%26#39;s will be a little less expensive but you really run the risk of eating frozen steak if you get under $20 or so for a filet.
Sunset has mixed reviews--I haven%26#39;t been there since they were new so I won%26#39;t comment. I actually see a few more don%26#39;t than do%26#39;s.
And they%26#39;re $$$.
Steak in Paradise
Just feed them copious amounts of alcohol. Go back to your room and call Damn Good Food for an awesome steak n cheese.
Set everything out on your balconey or patio and enjoy the evening.
If they%26#39;re buzzed enough just tell them they%26#39;re enjoying the best steak in Key West in a convienent, handy dandy breaded steak holder.
Or just go to Duffy%26#39;s......... : )
Sorry I don%26#39;t want to imply Duffy%26#39;s is frozen--it%26#39;s not. The same owner also owns Pisces and Commodore, so the food is top notch.
Duffys for bright lights, too many kids, and ok food. Usual 915 has great steaks. A bit pricy, but not as much as michaels.
I have been to Sunset Key 3 times for lunch and all three the food was not good.
There is a TGI Fridays in Key West. Try the Jack Daniels Flat Iron steak Not too expensive %26amp; very tender and delicious. The mashed potatoes are excellent too. They also have good Jack Daniels Ribs.
Jack Flats has a beef brisque with smashed potatos and green beans for less than $13. Red Fish Blue Fish also had a decent steak with spud for about $12. But, I%26#39;d still choose Duffy%26#39;s. And if you have extra $$$, Commodore is fabulous.
The folks that I know who live in Key West rave about The Outback.
They say it is a notch above most Outbacks.
7 Fish has a good NY Strip and the best meat loaf I%26#39;ve ever had. Make sure you make a reservation!
~~Its hard to find the perfect balance between a real good steak
and a real good price. This past wknd we went to Blue Heaven
and had an absolutely Fantastic filet with scallops. Indeed it was
to die for...well we felt like passing out when we learned
each plate was.... $45.00!!! Yes it was good ..BUT.....$$$$
(that was just too much). Just wanted to add this to the mix.
What is the name of the fancy steakhouse by Monty%26#39;s?
