Hotel Prices

We%26#39;ll be in Orlando the 2nd week in July. We would LOVE to book the Hilton Vacation Club on Int%26#39;l. Drive for that week. I keep checking their prices on the Hilton website and they originally were $120 last week, then jumped to $240, now they%26#39;re at $169, for a 1 bdrm. suite.

Does anyone know the BEST time to book this, regarding the drastic shift in rates? Also, why do they keep raising/lowering the rates almost on a daily basis?

Thanks!

I just had the same experience...the week of 6/30 to 7/7 the rates at the Marriot WC dropped from $284 to $161 !!! But then go up to $208 the next week and $219 the following week. You have to do a number of scenarios to and searches to find the best rates. Also before you book check the website for specials. Just yesterday I was about to book the Marriot for 7/11 to 7/17 at $219 when I received an e-mail moments before offering the same rate with the 5th night free..Sweet deal.

We had those type issues booking our hotel. Also, when I called the hotel for a phone rate I was given a higher price then listed online with their own site so I said to her well I can get something cheaper. She then lowered it a few dollars bellow the internet rate so it is worth a try. I usually don%26#39;t try to talk down prices but well if it works!

It%26#39;s all about supply and demand, most likely.

Booking prices at some hotels is worse than trying to time the stock market for the best prices.

Exactly-supply and demand. That%26#39;s why you hve to keep going back and checking that you got the best price. I often cancel a reservation and rebook when the price comes down. Just book the hotel, then keep looking and rebook if they lower the price. You can lose your mind waiting for the best price and the best time to book.
