Is the show worth the $50 they charge to get in for adults and $22 for kids
Dixie Stampede
As much as any dinner show charging the same amount is worth.
Nearly all dinner shows are around the $50/adult fee, so it really depends on the entertainment aspect which make them all vary.
This one is pretty good on that scale. The food is o.k., but not great. If you%26#39;re going for the meal alone, find a better restaurant.
Dixie Stampede
i guess its all personal opinion but i loved this show .... and it is the only one we have been to that actually has decent food .....
one tip , sit in the section where you are cheering for the south, it tends to have a better view and a lot less dust because of the way the AirCon seems to work

Thanks for that cause I would have chosen the North cause I%26#39;m from the North
you%26#39;re welcome ..
the other good tip is to show up early for this show as it actually has a great pre-show and drinks promotions in the pre-show area that are worth a look!

Redriva,
Have you been to Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show at Disney%26#39;s Ft. Wilderness yet?
I found the food at that show to be much better than Dixie Stampede. A much different show, but the food was excellent.
I was looking at that one to I would have to call about the pork my husband doesn%26#39;t eat that
For Hoop Dee Doo, the pork ribs are only part of the meal; the main meat is the endless buckets of southern fried chicken (yum!!). He can skip the ribs if he likes and still get plenty to eat. I think the entire meal is ';all you can eat'; as they keep bringing out the ';buckets'; of food.
You also get salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, corn bread, and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
I thought it was excellent food for a dinner show.
Hi Kats!
We were thinking for doing one of these. Which is better for kids (12,8,7). I heard some of these shows were over their heads?

Wow, it%26#39;s a really hard decision to make when children are involved.
I%26#39;ve seen Medieval Times, Dixie Stampede, and Hoop Dee Doo as an adult, and each was good in its own right. They are different from each other and that makes it hard to compare apples to oranges.
Dixie Stampede and Medieval Times are kinda similar, but different in that they have animal riding and stunts, but with different venues and storylines. If your children would like the horses and ';games'; shows, either of these would probably work.
Hoop Dee Doo does not involve any animal tricks or riding or competitions. It%26#39;s more of a comedy stage show with vaudeville-style humor, singing, dancing, musicians, and a lot of audience participation. It%26#39;s also in a much smaller setting than the big arenas. I would say just a little of the humor may be over children%26#39;s comprehension, but most of it they get right away and laugh at. It%26#39;s kinda of like the 3 Stouges meets Hee Haw.
Hope these descriptions help you a little.
Uh.... that was supposed to say 3 Stooges meets Hee Haw.
I can%26#39;t type today.
