Itinerary from around Naples

Hello, We are planned to go to Naples in July 07, for one week by plane and rent a car (airport Fort Myers).

We will stay at Bellarosa for 2 or 3 days and after take the direction for north for an itinerary by car and I need your help and comments.

We like to shop, eat in great restaurant beachfront and take the route by the beach not the interstate?

I believe you are staying in Bellasera? It is a very nice condotel.

There are no routes by the beach going north in the Naples area but you can take Rt. 4, although I would prefer I-75. Too many lights and traffic on 41 so not a really good idea.

On your way north you can shop at Miromar Outlets in Estero. It%26#39;s about 10 or so miles north from Naples right off I-75. There a lot of great outlet stores there. You can also shop around 5th Avenue in Naples which is walking distance from Bellasera. You can visit Sanibel or Captiva Islands, Ft. Myers Beach, Bonita Beach. I wouldn%26#39;t recommand going any further than Ft. Myers Beach since you will need to get back to Ft. Myers airport and you are only going to be in Southwest Florida for 7 days.

There are a few beachfront restaurants in Sanibel and Ft. Myers Beach. There is a place on Bonita beach called Docs as well. I have not done much dining outside Naples. Bellasera%26#39;s restaurant ZIZI%26#39;s is very good but not beach front. There are some great restaurants on 5th Avenue as well as Third Street South.

If you are interested in Sanibel, Bonits or Ft. Myers Beach check out there forums here on tripadvisor. You will get more info about the area from the locals there.

Enjoy your trip and be aware that July is hurricane season so trip insurance might be a wise purchase.
