Things to do, etc. in Fort Myers beach

HI - My husband and I are coming to FMB staying at the Best Western Beach Resort at the end of the month to celebrate my 40th birthday. We arrive on a Friday and leave on a Tuesday - what%26#39;s good to do in the area on the weekend - anything we can walk to from the hotel? Nice restaurants (don%26#39;t mind driving), etc? Any suggestions welcome. Also which golf course would you recommend if we were to try to play an early morning game? Thanks in advance!

Your right near Time Square which has many activities to keep you busy. There are many places to eat within walking distance from your room.

Good breakfast at Plaka, Petes or Wahoo Willies all in Time Square, there is a Waffle House just past McDonalds. Go to Gulfshore for eggs benedict and a mimosa! Lunch everywhere..and best seafood at Fish Monger or off Main at Beach Seafood. If you go to Sanibel/Captiva you%26#39;ve got to experience The Bubble Room, Green Flash, Morgans Rain Forest or Doc Fords. Been to all but Doc Fords-themed around local author Randy White.

Their sister restaurant is Beached Whale across from Surf Club on FMB and they have gr8 food-same locals have been there for years.

Happy Birthday

Thanks for the suggestions! Any recommendations for a great steak house in the area?

I heard Warfields was good, I have never been there. It is just over the bridge. Happy Birthday!

I have heard mixed reviews about Warfields. Tetleys in Times Square was always good for stone cooked steak. I like Steak and Ale up on Northbound 41 near Page Field.

Thanks - I looked at the website for Steak and Ale. Their food looks really good!

Speaking of things to do, has anyone been to the greyhound track in Bonita Springs? Thinking about going to the races on a Sat night. Any thoughts?
