Hi Everyone! We are going on cruise mid-April. Friends of our said they stayed at a Best Western where they could see the cruise ships. I can%26#39;t find one that looks like it is on the water. Can anyone help? We don%26#39;t want a dive hotel. Will be there for two nights pre-cruise %26amp; to see Fort Lauderdale. Thanks!
Pre-cruise hotel on water
They may have been speaking about the Beat Western Marina Motor Inn , which was across from the cruise port and is now closed. The only other possibility would be the Beat Western Oceanside , which is on the water , but I%26#39;m honestly not sure if you can see the cruise ships from some of their rooms or not- it would possibly overlook the inlet at Port Everglades, but it%26#39;s not very tall, so I%26#39;m just not sure. Maybe someone who has stayed there will help us out.
The thing is the Best Western Marina was not in very good condition for the last several years, so I%26#39;m a bit surprised anyone would have recommended it highly, unless they stayed there many years ago, before it started it%26#39;s downward spiral that eventually caused it to be sold to developers , who I believe are replacing it with condos.
Let%26#39;s see if anyone who knows the Oceanside will be able to tell you- I%26#39;ll be going down that way Saturday and will see if I can figure it out.

Thanks so much! I think it was the Best Western Marina Motor Inn. It was several years ago. Where would be a nice place to stay pre-cruise?There will be six of us ranging in age from about 50-60. We are staying 2 nights before our cruise, would like a nice pool, %26amp; plan on doing some sight-seeing. Do any hotels provide shuttle service to %26amp; from beach? We will definately need that from airport %26amp; to cruise port. Thanks again!
you can check out the Fort Lauderdale Grande - formerly the Marina Marriott. They have a great pool area and have a water-taxi stop right outside the hotel. Or, you can try the Renaissance Fort Lauderdale. The Renaissance is just a block west of the Grande. Both of the above hotels are on 17th Street and are right across the street from the port.
The Renaissance rooms are really nice, but the Grande%26#39;s pool is bigger.............. I
