since we haven%26#39;t made any dining reservations at any of the parks for nov 18th to the 25th, does this mean that we wont be able to eat at any of these restaraunts? will we only be able to eat at the counter service places?? i don%26#39;t mind all that much, but some of the dining places sounded really good. if there%26#39;s a chance we can get in to any, which ones should we try?? we love ';home cookin';, caribbean, sea food and love to try new foods and of course we love regular american food. thanks for all your comments in advance. :) 36 more days!!
reservations at disney and universal??
The problem is that you are going to be there during a holiday period, and yes, unless you get reservations at the Disney restaurants, don%26#39;t expect to be able to get into table service places.
My guess is, at this late a date, you%26#39;re only chance is if someone cancels. You really won%26#39;t have much chance without a reservation as many places won%26#39;t even put your name on the list as a walk-up duing these busy times. I saw this first hand last March.
I suggest you at least try to get some reservations if any are left anywhere, so that you%26#39;ll at least get some nice places. Otherwise, it%26#39;s gonna be counter service all the way in the parks.
Also, on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23rd), you%26#39;re going to have really limited choices of food outside the theme parks. Many restaurants won%26#39;t open that day, but some will and they will be packed.
reservations at disney and universal??
We just completed dining reservations for a client traveling to WDW later this month and we were able to get good reservations but it took several phone calls and required some flexibility. They%26#39;re a larger group - 7 people - so that was a factor, obviously. They%26#39;re eating at 8:30PM one night and 4PM another day but we did get some fun choices. Disney-MGM Studios was a real bear to book; they%26#39;re ending up at two tables.
You%26#39;re going during Thanksgiving week so it%26#39;ll be busy. Here are some tips:
1.) Decide now which parks you are visiting on which day. See my post (click on my user ID) about planning tips for Nov. %26amp; Dec.
2.) Plan to avoid parks that have Disney Extra Magic Hours on a particular day- the resorts will be very full and that is a lot people headed the same direction.
3) Contact 407-WDW-Dine as soon as you have set your schedule and ask about options for those days. If you get someone who doesn%26#39;t seem knowledgeable or helpful, end the call quickly and dial in again. Epcot will provide lots of great choices - try for Morocco. Avoid the China pavilion; you probably have better Chinese restaurants in your town.
4) Consider dining in some of the resorts - sounds like you would enjoy Boma at the Animal Kingdom lodge, which is a great way to end an Animal Kingdom day. The Cape May Clambake Dinner buffet at the Beach Club resort may be right up your alley. The Trails End restaurant at Fort Wilderness has good food and often has good availability. I also like the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian and it often has seatings available. Raglan Road is new and very popular at Downtown Disney but that%26#39;s for a reason - it is worth a try and they have live music after 8:30PM.
5.) Try Bahama Breeze - www.bahamabreeze.com. They get consistently good reviews. Bongo%26#39;s Cuban Cafe in Downtown Disney used to be good but they%26#39;ve been getting mixed reviews lately.
6.) There are some great counter service choices, especially at Epcot. We love Flame Tree Barbeque at Animal Kingdom. My wife really likes the ABC Commissary at Disney-MGM Studios - I%26#39;m a little less enthusiastic about it. Beaches %26amp; Cream at Beach Club is fun.
Of course, we would love it if you used our services and we%26#39;d work hard for you but you can do this, if you%26#39;re willing to spend the time to get it done soon.
Hope this helps.
Steve
