Hotel to stay at?

I am a parent visiting U of F with prospctive student and need to know whaivh hotel to stay at. I%26#39;ve read about a lot of bad hotels on the forum, so can anyone recommend a good one (conveinient, clean, etc.). Is it best to stay directly adjacent to campus so I can walk the campus, or is it better to be a short drive away?

I really like the Hilton. It is just a 5 minute drive to campus. It is one of the newer hotels that has been built, and has lots of UF-themed elements (i.e. Mr. 2-Bits bar). If you are going to be going during the week, this and other hotels may have a shuttle. Those don%26#39;t operate on the weekend.

If you want to stay directly on campus, the Reitz Union has a hotel. You could definately walk to most areas of campus from here. I%26#39;ve never stayed there, and the photos on the webpage look pretty dated, but it would be extremely convenient.

I am a UF parent and have spent many nights at the Hilton as we live in Louisiana, great hotel for reasonable price and just across from campus. I hope you like UF--it%26#39;s a great school, we stayed at Hilton this weekend for LSU game, lots of fun!
