Key west-Beach bar??

best out of the way place-within walking distance to downtown?

Key west-Beach bar??

There are several kind-a-beach-bars that are out-of-the-way places that I can think of off-hand:

The Duval Beach Club at the very northern end of Duval. Their bar opens up onto a small Beach and the ocean, and they serve Key West Sunset Ale and pretty good appitizers. My impression is that not many tourists venture this far north on Duval.

The Tiki Bar at the Galleon Resort all the way south on Simonton. It overlooks the harbor and there never seems to be anyone there. (There%26#39;s a sign but you tend not to notice this nor go around the corner to the left to the bar) But it is a nice place to sit and have a drink and wathc the boats.

The outdoor bar at the Roooftop Cafe on Front Street. It%26#39;s really not a beach front bar but it is very nice to sit there on the 2nd floor and watch the people at the market below you towards the Mallory Docks. It seems to be undiscovered so far.

I%26#39;m sure Pjk means the southern end of Duval for the Duval Beach Club.

As for the Roof Top, it is one of our favourite places on the one night during our trips where we actually have a %26#39;dinner%26#39;. Plus they have a great lunch (love the Monte Cristo).

2 weeks from tomorrow (Oct 25 for FF) for 10 nights - can%26#39;t wait!!!!!!!

The Pier House has a nice bar on its beach. Drinks are a buck more than what you%26#39;d think but the view, sand, sound, warmth and foliage makes it a bargain. 1 Duval St

Much as I love Key West, I think it%26#39;s sadly lacking in true beach bar ambiance. When I think beach bars, I think thatch roof, palm trees, on the beach.

Lack of beach bars was the one and only complaint I heard when I brought a group of friends down this past March.

The Casa Marina has a nice bar out by the beach called the sun sun pavillion. You can also get great lite fare/appetizers there. I know they are currently doing construction on the Casa, so not exactly sure if it like it used to be.
