The New pcb

I know there are alot of people upset about the re development of Panama City Beach. However I am hoping someone can give me an idea of some of the good things taking place. I am considering buying real estate in one of the new condos on the beach and want to get an idea of the new environment in PCB. We are travelling down there this week to take a look but I would love to hear what everyone thinkgs of the city. Family friendly, things to do, good place to retire to in the winter months?

Thanks so much!

I, too, am hoping to move to PCB in the next couple of years. Here are a couple of websites you should check out:

http://pcbonthemove.com %26amp; www.pierparkretail.com

There are tons of other sites, but I like these the best.

Also suggested, go to www.schooners.com and join the forum there. There are tons of recent conversations there and you can send me a private message if you want more info. (I am Aquarian.) There are 3 or 4 of us working our way toward moving, and another guy who has several condos and thinks it%26#39;s a worthwhile investment. He does something with demographics for a living and works with the contractors/investors building there. He goes by Smartnumber.

Trip Advisor will shut down conversations that do not pertain to travel if they see it, so your best bet is to go to Schooners forum for this type of info. They also have live feed webcams of the beach. Looking forward to hearing from you there!

We are very happy living here, the military sent us here and we liked it so much my husband is getting out so we can stay. Between PCB and Panama City proper, there is plenty to do and the location is great for driving to other places for the weekend, etc... (we just got back from a weekend in the casinos of Biloxi - 4 hour drive)

It%26#39;s very family friendly, this part of Florida is more like Alabama than Florida, it%26#39;s very much The South. Avoid the strip during spring break and you%26#39;re good :) There are very few restaurants that are not child-friendly. I don%26#39;t have children yet (hoping to very soon) but my friends who do have very little trouble finding activities for them. Daycare is in short supply though.

Pier Park and some other retail areas here on the beach side are finally starting to get going, we%26#39;re going to have a new movie theatre and some bigger shops, the brand new two story Target just opened yesterday.

One thing I will tell you is DO NOT buy a condo until winter. The market is saturated beyond belief and no matter what a realtor tells you, they are not selling and prices are dropping weekly. Once the cold weather comes, with so many still sitting empty, you are really going to see the market soften up.

Netter is right, TA does not patroll this forum very closely like they do the more high traffic ones, but they do have the right to close a conversation about moving as opposed to travel, so get your questions in now in case they do so :)
