hi
me and my family are thinking to go to world disney world for 4 days (dec 30-jan3). in my family there are no little kids so i was wondering: is the new year%26#39;s eve going to be boring? or there%26#39;s planty of stuff to attend? is anyone been there for the new year? also, how%26#39;s the weather there in that period of the year? too cold for swimming in the pools? sunny? rainy?
are the parks going to be packed in this period? i have heard that sometimes they have to close because they reach their maximum capability...does it happen often??
we will be there for 4 nights. should we spend more time in wdw or epcot?
i know some of the disney value hotels are very convenient...should we rent a car, or are they enough close to the park? and how far are they from epcot or the other parks?
hope somebody can help...
thanks!
Angelo
orlando- WDW new year's eve
Hello drjello,
Yes the parks will be packed especially the 30th, and 31st with crowds beginning to taper down on the 1st. The weather is generally in the low 70%26#39;s with night time temperatures dipping into the 40%26#39;s so make sure and bring cold weather clothing especially for evening visits to the parks! New Years Eve will not be boring! I would make your dining reservations now as many of the times are probably already booked. 407-WDW-DINE is the phone number and for a list of restaurants and menus go to www.allearsnet.com All the parks will be packed however of all the parks I would recommend Epcot for New Years Eve as it%26#39;s Disney%26#39;s largest park. I don%26#39;t recommend going to the Magic Kingdom on New Years Eve. You won%26#39;t need to rent a car if your staying at one of the Disney value resorts as you will receive free transportation to and from the airport, all the disney parks including Downtown Disney. When you make your reservation at a Disney resort you will also need to request the Magical Express airport transportation from the airport in which you will receive luggage tags to put on your luggage before you leave home. Your luggage will then be transported to your room as you board a Magical Express bus. Along with this forum go to www.allearsnet.com for more New Years Eve information.

The weather can be unpredictable, so come prepared for both warm and cold (clothes you can layer preferrably).
Theme parks will be packed like sardines until at least Jan. 1st or 2nd. Largest crowds of the year, usually. This is the one time of year they do reach capacity and close, so be sure to get to the theme parks early in the day.
';should we spend more time in wdw or epcot?'; By this statement, I%26#39;m guessing you mean Magic Kingdom or Epcot (the entire place is called WDW). Epcot is the park that handles very large crowds the best, because of its size and its ';two parks in one'; layout. Magic Kingdom will probably be the most crowded, so save going to that park until after Dec. 31st, unless you simply must attend the NYE fireworks show there (I hear its fantastic).
You will not need to rent a car if you stay on Disney property and take Disney bus transportation to the parks. The value resorts are all in the same area, except for Pop Century. Pop Century would be your best bet if you can find a vacancy, as its busses only go to it and not other properties. The bus service can be hectic and very busy at both opening and closing times of the parks, but just be patient. Pop Century is also the closest value resort to Epcot.
At this late a date, you may have problems getting into a value resort. Most folks have already made their reservations for NYE timeframe, but you can still try.
