Long weekend in Oct

My best friend from high school and I are ditching the husbands and kids, and looking forward to a long weekend at my in-law%26#39;s condo in Pinellas Park in a few weeks.

I%26#39;ve been to John%26#39;s Pass, are there other good areas where we can do some walking and sightseeing? We are not so into malls or outlet shopping, more into seeing little shops and local art or items (example - we love those shell shops!). My friend also has a condition where she tires easily, so we want places that we can sit and rest frequently if we need to. I%26#39;m not sure what is open this time of year.

Also, are the St. Pete%26#39;s beaches good for finding shells? Any particular ones we should check out?

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

You could do some sho

pping in downtown St. Pete. Baywalk is there http://www.baywalkstpete.com/ as well as small little shops. Lots of places for resting. Resaurants, bars, benches with water views etc. The pier is there also with more shopping and water views. Should only take about 1/2 hour to get there from Pinellas Park.

Or head to the beaches and take a drive along Gulf Blvd. Anywhere from Clearwater all the way down to St. Pete Beach. Of course you have done Johns Pass, but all along Gulf Blvd there are many shops and restaurants as well as public parking and beach access.

Thanks a lot MarkBee, I checked out the website, that looks great - and they have live music that will be really fun for us.

How about antique shops or junk shops? Those are always fun to poke through.
