When is spring break exactly?

I have just booked a trip from the UK to Key West for 5 nights next March as a surprise for my husband%26#39;s birthday. I%26#39;m 25 and he will be turning 46. We%26#39;re about the same age mentally, somewhere in our 30%26#39;s!

I keep reading that march is a bad time to go due to spring break (not a concept we%26#39;re so familiar with over here).

So when does spring break begin? We will be flying in on Thu 8th and out on Tue 13th.

Comments and advice appreciated :o)

The problem is, not all colleges and schools have their spring break at the same time. It could be anytime in March until about mid-April. Some schools in Florida will have their spring break March 12 - 16, but pretty much anytime in March could be someone%26#39;s spring break.

Hi, Shelley! I honestly wouldn%26#39;t worry about spring break. The odds are that you and your husband won%26#39;t want to spend all your time in the same bars and/or restaurants that college kids enjoy.

Have you made accommodation reservations? That can make a huge difference in whether you%26#39;ll be inconvenienced by partygoers.

thats prime time FSU spring break! Usually florida starts theirs the week after ours soo you will have FSU kids coming in an going out and more florida kids coming into replace them. Most southern schools have theirs on the early side... you are going during prime time! have fun!

Cheers guys, I%26#39;m sure we%26#39;ll have a great time regardless.

Oh and we%26#39;re staying on Front Street (close to Duval I believe?)but I am really looking forward to the trip. He won%26#39;t know the difference if there are loads of people around anyway, he%26#39;s never been before so it will all be a new experience anyway.

Front Street is perfect! Right on the water, steps from Mallory Square and the sunset celebrations, close to lots of wonderful restaurants, and also near Key West Bight - which is the originating point of most water excursions!
