Hi all,
We usually rent a private villa off site, but would like to stay on site with disney, but do they only do hotels or can we self-cater?
Thank you.
Disney self-cateringThe Disney Vacation Club has villas ranging from studios to 3 bedrooms at the Yacht and Beach Club, the Boardwalk,Old Key West,Saratoga Springs-they are all very expensive. Try www.mousesavers.com for some good advice on these. the Doubletree Guest Suites at Downtown Disney has a fridge and microwave in the suites
Disney self-cateringIf you rent points from a DVC owner it%26#39;s more reasonable than booking direct through Disney. But it%26#39;s also more risky.
I%26#39;ve booked DVC through Disney several times in the off season. The studio units just have a kitchenette, with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. The one and two bedroom units have a full kitchen, with a cooktop, oven, full size refrigerator (with full size freezer), dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and coffeemaker. The one and two bedroom units also have a washer/dryer and a very large, divided bathroom, with a shower, sink, and toilet in one room, and another sink and a whirlpool tub in the other half. I%26#39;ve stayed in the studios, and they are great for two people, but since they are the same size as a hotel room (with one queen bed and a full size sofa bed) they would be a little crowded for four. I%26#39;m trying out one of the one bedroom units in December, with a king size bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa bed in the living room.
Another option are the cabins in Fort Wilderness Campground. They sleep six, with a double and bunk beds in the bedroom, and a fold down Sico bed in the living room. It has a full kitchen, a bathroom with tub/shower combo, sink and toilet, and a deck outside for relaxing. They usually run around the same price as Animal Kingdom Lodge or Wilderness Lodge, but they sometimes run specials that make them an even better value.
Thank you for the replies I%26#39;ll have to check out these locations.
