Sunset Captiva

We rented a house in Sunset Captiva about six years ago. It was the perfect layout for family of six and in a great location. We are thinking of going back in March. Have these houses been kept up? Are they still nice? Any particular units?

Sunset Captiva

Ok - the blasted site just wiped out my response.

Sunset Captiva is still nice, but individual owners are responsible for furnishings. Many were updated after Charley hit. Units 1-8 are beachfront and cost a bit more. The other units are easily some of the best buys on Captiva. A few are a shade more per week because of upgraded furnishings and kitchens and such.

The largest numbers of units in one spot are on www.royalshell.com See also www.captiva-island.com. Remember, units with a 3 digit number are condos bayside across the street. For other units see www.VRBO.com and www.sanibel-captiva.org and click on %26#39;Where to Stay%26#39; and then agencies. There are hot links to all of the agencies that have rentals. I%26#39;ve used quite a few and they were fine.

I%26#39;d suggest you ask the agent about a unit you%26#39;re interested in, when it was redone - or at least when the photos were taken. That%26#39;s about all I can suggest. Good luck!
