Busch Gardens or Disney?

I know the choice sounds kind of odd but.... We are planning to stay on St. Pete Beach during spring break with our kids (boys 8,6,5) and we were thinking of either driving to Orlando for a day or going to Busch Gardens for a day.... not both.

Which would you do and why?

Its been a long time since I was at Busch Gardens as a child so I%26#39;m not sure what its like now.

Because your sons are young, I would suggest Disney. Most of the attractions and rides at BG are for older kids, though there are some for younger kids. I think they would enjoy the Magic Kingdom more.

I was going to suggest going to Busch Gardens since you are staying at St. Pete Beach. It is much closer therefore a shorter drive. The rides are not the only things at BG ,there are all the animals, the various shows and while some of the rides have height restrictions, there are rides for younger children too.

thanks for the responses... how long would it take to get to Busch vs. Disney, I%26#39;m guessing 1/2 hr vs. 90min. Is there traffic to worry about through Tampa for either??

From St Pete Beach, about an hour, with no traffic. I%26#39;d recommend that over Disney, as Disney may take you up to 2 hours from st pete beach. BG has an entire section dedicated to Kids(check their website), and lots of shows and animal attractions, best of all, its closer to St Pete Beach. Leave St Pete Beach after 9am, and leave BG after 630/7pm to not hit any traffic.

We are also considering the Aquarium in Tampa. Would this be a full day? Does anyone know what their boat tours are like? Are they worth the extra$$? Thanks

The Aquaruim may take about 2 hours to go through, there is a Kids area, with water activities, and Ive done the boat ride, great views of Tampa, and we saw some dolphins, and listened to some interesting facts about Eco-Life in the water.
