heres where everyone gets to know my ';scrooge'; side ; is it possible to see the fireworks without goin into WDW. don t really fancy the mouses habitat much and for the entrance fee i could stage my own show
watching the fireworks
You could see Epcot Illuminations and MK Wishes without entering the parks but you will not enjoy the fireworks to their full effect. You will not hear the soundtracks that accompany the displays and in the case of Epcot fireworks is only a part of the show, with illuminated buildings, lasers and the floating globe.
There are various vantage points outside the parks from where you could watch the shows. MK - the TTC for example, or one of the resort hotels ( Grand Floridian ). Epcot , you may see the fireworks from the Boardwalk.
You will miss a fantastic experience however, the fireworks are extremely enjoyable.

Consider at dining reservation at the California Grill (not cheap) during the Wishes fireworks. They have an observation platform w/ the music piped in.
The easiest ones to see without entering the parks are Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. You can see them from any of the monorail resorts or from the Transportation and Ticket Center. Keep in mind though that you would have to pay the $10 parking fee or park at Downtown Disney and take a bus to the resort you wish to visit (allow at least an hour if you take the bus). I think they%26#39;re the best from the beach at the Poly, because you are more straight on than you are at the other resorts. But you get a good view at any of them.
thanks everyone for the info; what time do they start ?
well, its sad that you dont want to enjoy the park, but my hubby didnt either so i feel ya.
I would seriously go to California Grill, (we went last night) just call and ask if you need a reservation for drinks. Drinks are stiff...about 8 bucks a pop, but the view is amazing. You could go up for a drink, and its 15 stories up right above MK...I saw Wishes 2 times this week in the park (one hallowishes) and they were great, but NOT as great as they were last night. It was incredible. The music was loud and no 100,000 other people screaming and kids crying. I also saw them at Ohana, they were ';ok';. Epcot...worth the price of admission if youve never been, very little mousing more food and eye candy...the firworks i believe are even more amazing, but harder to see from far off then the MK ones. You MUST have the music piped in somewhere to get the full effect of MK works. the corriagraphy is INCREDIBLE!
thanks for the info libby; but im a tad confused; i had a look at a map and it seems to me that this place is inside the park, its well past the end of world drive. the building also seems awfully big for a restraunt, is it a hotel too, and can we just waltz in and go up to thegrill for just a drink
oh yes. nearly forgot libby; what time do they start
The Californian Grill is part of the contemporary resort hotel and sits outside the MK served by the free monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Centre.
Firework times vary by season, around 8.00 / 9:00 PM
The fireworks can be as late at 10:00 P.M. as well. You can look on the Disney website calendar page for the month and day you%26#39;ll be visiting to see the time of the Wishes fireworks at Magic Kingdom.
If you decide to simply visit one of the resorts to view the show, you SHOULD NOT have to pay a $10 parking fee. You can park for free at the resorts for a limited amount of time, say if you are simply visiting or eating dinner. You get a temporary parking pass from the security gate as you enter for about a 2 to 3 hour time limit.
We did this last spring from the beach at the Polynesian resort. Also got to see the Electric Water Pageant at the same time on the lagoon.
thanks all for your help;cleared up things a bit, i thought when i looked at the map that the entrance was at the end of the main road; world drive, and that was where you coughed up the megabucks; does that mean you can just drive around for a look and be nosey , for nothin as long as u dont want to ride anything ?
