Anyone seen the tortoises at Animal Kingdom?

Has anyone seen the tortoises at AK? When we went in February we could not find them at all. We also could not find a Disney employee to ask (this seemed poor as at Busch Gardens there were many people giving talks and available to ask questions). The only reason I%26#39;ve left it so long to post this question is because since February I%26#39;ve asked quite a few people who have also been and they haven%26#39;t seen them either.

if you mean the giant galapogas island tortoises in the AK then yes ive seen them!

They are aorund the base of the tree of life, however i have only ever seen them in the queue area for ';its a bugs life';

They are incredible creatures i think thou they have many places they can hide so it is not always guaranteed or possible to see them

Thanks tj. At least I know they do exist. I own an Herman tortoise and enjoy looking at the large tortoises such as Galapagos. We couldn%26#39;t even see any little signs that give you info about their tortoises, like they do for other animals.

I seem to remeber that there isnt even any information that they are in AK!

I only knew of them because the first time i went was an educational trip paid for by work and they pointed them out whislt we were in the queue for Bugs Life.

So when i was there in May this year i made a point of looking for them and pointing them out to my partner! Amazing creatures thou!

I have a tortoise (Sally) we think shes about 97 -101 now but cant be sure of her exact age!!

They also have huge tortoises at Gatorland and if you go at the right time you can go into the pen with a keeper and hand feed them. My daughter did this last time and she loved it - and she%26#39;s 19!
