universal ; waste of time ?

we are leaving this friday but unsure whether going to universal would be worth the effort as neither of us are really into thrill rides; i never aquired a head for heights and my wifes spinal arthritis might not take the action; what else is there other than assorted varieties of roller coaster

universal ; waste of time ?

Universal doesn%26#39;t have any roller coasters, IOA has a couple. There are loads of shows and several tame rides there, including Men In Black, Jaws and Twister (which isn%26#39;t really a ride). Go onto the website and check out what they involve. I like it there and would recommend a visit.

Given your apprehension and your wifes condition,I would recommend giving IOA a miss.

However,don%26#39;t miss Universal Studios.There%26#39;s only one coaster here (The Mummy Returns)which is ace,but most of the attractions are about special effects and bringing the movies to life.

There are two must-see 3D attractions in T2-3D and Shrek 4D.

All-in-all,US is similar to Disney Studios but a little more %26#39;full on%26#39;.

You might also like the more %26#39;rock %26#39;n roll%26#39; vibe of Universal over Disney.

Universal is great. You%26#39;d be crazy to miss it.

kids gang and hubby prefer ioa but i prefer universal studios, not alot of rides but fantastic showa etc dont miss it

thanks everyone for clearing up my misconception about the place; i had always been under the impression it was like Alton Towers on steroids.

hydra ,me ole matey; does this mummy ride throw you about a lot, cause the wife just raved about the movie, if it was nt too rough we might give it a go.

JP-

The Mummy Returns is absolutely not to be missed.

I know you%26#39;ve got concerns, but is is one of THE best attractions in all the parks.

It starts off with special effects and then turns into a roller coaster.

It%26#39;s indoors and in the dark and, when we first went,I had to vet it for my family (I would suggest you do the same for your wife).

It%26#39;s fast and twisty, but not high and there are no loops.

The theming, storyline and effects are of the best quality so do try it if you can!

Visit Universal%26#39;s website,there%26#39;s a short video clip to give you a flavour of it.

Whatever you decide, have a great time JP.

I loved the MUmmy it thought it was the best ride in there.I am not sure your wife would be delighted. I told my Mrs that it was like ET she came out with hair like Phylis Diller. It was very good though. nearest thing to a thrill ride in there.

We loved it too. In fact it got better every time we went on. The only annoying thing is queuing up to put your stuff in the lockers as you can%26#39;t take any bags on. It was very busy when we were there but it stopped running for a while and we were lucky as they%26#39;d just opened it up again as we were going past so the wait time was only about 10 mins.

You just cannot miss Universal - I love the Phyllis Diller analogy - the Blue Brothers is my favourite show - a cool beer and I%26#39;m away.
