Places to eat....

We will be staying in Cocoa Beach March 21-25. We are staying at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. I%26#39;m just wondering if anyone can make some suggestions as to where we should eat. We%26#39;ve been to Cocoa Beach for day trips but never stayed there. As this will be a busy time of year, do any places take advanced reservations? We will have 4 adults and 2 children (ages 4 and 7 at time of travel) so long waits may not work very well for us. Is the Holdiay Inn close to the pier? Thanks for your help.

Places to eat....

The Holiday Inn is roughly a two miles south of the pier near Lori Wilson park. Yes, March is a busy time of year as that is when our snowbirds return for the winter as well as spring break for some schools. The HI used to be ';kids eat free'; and has two places to eat, so check and see if it still is.

Otherwise, all the usual restaurants suspects (Durangos, IHOP, etc.) are north of your location. You might encounter less of a wait at local places that don%26#39;t get a lot of tourists: Slow and Low BBQ, Bizarros Pizza (yum!), Beef O%26#39;Bradys or Long Doggers and Bunkys in Satellite Beach.

If you could supply some more details of what you%26#39;re looking for, steak, seafood, buffet, family, waterfront, casual, how far you%26#39;re interested in driving, etc... It would be easier to suggest something.

We would like to stick to more casual dining as the kids will be with us. Are there any casual places that have good steak and seafood? We will have a vehicle so it really doesn%26#39;t matter how close to the hotel places are. I%26#39;m sure one night we would just like to have a good pizza (kids favorite) so if anyone could suggest a good pizza place that would be great.

We just returned from a visit to Cocoa Beach and loved all the

restaurants we tried. I think you and you children would like Jack

Baker%26#39;s Lobster Shanty. It is right on the Banana River and you

can sit outside or inside. Your children would love watching all

the sea gulls and pelicans-also they can watch the fish jumping

in the water. %26#39;We ate there one time for lunch and liked it so well

we went back for dinner. They have great early bird specials that

include tea or milk and also dessert. We had the fried shrimp and

it was great-their fritters are also very good.

We tried Vito%26#39;s pizza for lunch one day and it was good. We got

carry out so don%26#39;t know much about the other Italian food at the

restaurant.

We loved Cocoa Beach-hope you do too.

The Lobster Shanty is a great suggestion. I%26#39;d also reccomend The Italian Courtyard for pizza/italian. Their garlic knots are to die for! It is at 350 W. Cocoa Beach Cswy.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the suggestions. It really helps a lot since we have never stayed in this area before. If anyone has any other suggestions please let us know.
