looking for the best discounts on rental cars from orlando

Not sure about how you do it in Canada but wherever you come from I would book the carhire prior to arrival in Orlando. You will be rooked at the desk and the bill will be BIG. Always pre book. I was one of those who was caught out - only once though.

At worst you could contact the big car hire companies and get them to email you best offers.

www.mousesavers.com always has good advice on car rental discounts etc.

I agree with mousavers. I booked mine last night with their discount codes for Dollar Rent a Car and got a, granted small, economy car for $124 for 10 days. I%26#39;m not sure if it matters booking from inside the US or not. Good Luck!

I just asked a similar question, and was advised that Costco.com offers deals to members. Checked last night and it was a lot cheaper - got a quote of $450 for an SUV for 2 weeks. Having said that, haven%26#39;t checked mousesavers or Entertainment book yet.

We usually go through Costco for our car rental. Their Alamo rental deal gives you 25% off plus there%26#39;s always another coupon that you can print and take to get another discount. I book everything online. You don%26#39;t pay until you get there. You don%26#39;t even have to give any credit card info and with the confirmation number you get you can change your rental later or cancel it without any problems. We had a midsize for $114. per week plus the tax. I guess it%26#39;s suppose to be for members but I have never yet had to show any member info either online or at Alamo when we get there.

I like to check carrentals.com and then I%26#39;ve booked thru them or gone to the cheapest company%26#39;s website. The best advice for car rentals is this: book early and then keep watching for a better deal!

I%26#39;ve been doing a lot of checking the last 24 hours, the best rate I come up with is with Dollar using the coupon code.

Pricing for 2 weeks, I found a Chrysler Pacifica for $363.03 (after tax and fees), a Dodge Caravan minivan for $409.80. Now, it depends on what kind of vehicle you want, too. The Alamo/Costco deal was good for a SUV for $481.23 which included 2 drivers. The Dollar deal did not.

I found amazing variability in pricing depending on the code/coupon I used, and the type of vehicle. So my suggestion is to figure out how big a vehicle you need and start pricing from there.

Good luck...it%26#39;s lot%26#39;s of leg work, but worth it!

I got a good deal through hotwire.com. If you are not familiar with hotwire, they give you a quote but you don%26#39;t know which company you are booking until you confirm. They do tell you it will be 1 of 3 companies. I think It is Hertz, Avis or Budget. I ended up with Avis and I got a minivan for about $200 less than the Avis website rate.

The only drawback is that you have to pay in advance and you cannot cancel. But this is a great site for booking deeply discounted hotel rates as well.

hey Mel that is an extraordinary deal. you went through costco and Alamo to get the $400 dollar 2 week deal on a minivan - that is an amazing deal. Let me know if possible how you got that far- trying new codes, etc thanks for the information- Catherine

Catcole,

The Costco deal can be found via Costco.com...just go to the travel/rental cars section, then follow the links.

We ended up reserving a Magnum instead through Dollar - supposed to hold just as much luggage, it only cost $316 after taxes (used the KISS coupon code). My only fear is that we won%26#39;t get the Magnum, but an ';or similar vehicle'; instead. Oh well, I%26#39;ll take my chances. Rather spend my $$ on other things than a particular car.

Just post if you have any more questions.

Mel
