Disney visit Jan 8 to 15

Please help, is this a ';not so busy'; timeframe to visit Disney.

7 full days, looking to stay on the resort. Is this the way to go?

If so which accomodation might you suggest?

Should be a quiet time because most kids will be back in school. We always stay in a Disney resort. You get free transportation from/to airport and free transportation to all Disney parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney. You also get to take advantage of Extra Magic Hours (which you probably won%26#39;t have to do with the lower crowd levels unless you just want to get into the parks earlier and stay later than nonresort guests). You can also add the Dining Plan which is a great savings if you want to enjoy table service restaurants, character meals and dinner shows instead of just eating counter service.

Disney has fabulous resorts to fit all budgets. What is your price range and what amenities are you looking for? This will help us suggest resorts for you to look at.

It would be a great time to visit as far as crowds go, because not many folks will be there at that time.

However, you should be aware that this time period is when many of the refurbishments take place, so some attractions you may want to do will be closed. Also, if you were planning on visiting waterparks, Typhoon Lagoon will be closing at this time as well.

Among the attractions closed for refurb duing this time will include Splash Mtn. and the Winnie the Pooh ride at Magic Kingdom. Others may be announced later on.

Weather will also be an ';iffy'; factor. Come prepared for all temperatures and with clothes you can layer as the temps warm or cool each day. You might have days with temps in the 70%26#39;s or in the 40%26#39;s, you just never know.

Surfs Up --

This is a great time to go -- we%26#39;ll be there from the 5th to the 14th!

Crowds are at a minimum (huge bonus for me -- will never do summer again!) and weather is generally nice and in the 70s (the occassional 50s or 80s may show up so be prepared) -- but it%26#39;s generally jeans and t-shirt weather witha sweatshirt at night.

Accomodations depend on what you want to spend and who you are going with. We will be at the All-Star Music suites because there are 5 of us (me, hubby, my Mom and 2 kids) -- so this made the most sense. The All-Stars and Pop Century are great fro a tight budget -- not too many frills, but clean room and hot shower (that%26#39;s really all I need!) For Moderates, I like the Port Orleans -- you can go fancy or rustic depending on your taste. Deluxe -- my favorite is Wilderness Lodge -- simply loved it! But again, depends what you are looking for...
