Driving down from Jeykll Island and have an afternoon in Jacksonville before our flight on a Friday. Any suggestions for dining near the airport for a late lunch/early dinner.

';Near the airport'; isn%26#39;t an overly pleasant area. Actually, most of Jacksonville%26#39;s crime occurs in that part of the town. Maybe some locals can help and tell more?
Dining Near Airport
Hello Princess,
In the airport terminal there is a food court and a coffee shop/grill.
-Between Interstate 95 and the airport there are restaurants like Denny’s, Longhorn, Ruby Tuesday, and a couple hotels with restaurants, etc.
-Twenty minutes south of the airport is The Landing on the river which offers some restaurants with nice views. At Hooters you can sit outside. *At the end of the Landing nearest the blue bridge is a restaurant with microbrewery that looks good. It has recently changed hands and has a new name which I can’t remember. The menu looks good but I haven’t tried it yet. There’s a city parking lot partially under the blue bridge at this same end of The Landing.
-*On the south bank, across the river from The Landing, is the River City Brewing Company which has good food and a nice view. Lots of free parking. 835 Museum Circle. (904) 398-2299 Both this restaurant and The Landing are between the blue Main Street Bridge and the Acosta Bridge but on opposite sides of the river.
*These two are my recommendations.
Enjoy your trip!
Airport Road has a few chain options such as Millhouse, Long Horn, Ruby Tuesday, Cracker Barrel, and Denny%26#39;s. The Clarion Hotel right on airport property has a restaurant with really good food, but it is pricey. The Budweiser Brew house in the airport is okay too.
If you%26#39;re looking for Jacksonville ';originals'; I would head 20 minutes downtown to the Landing and eat at the Cellar Grille. The Riverside/Avondale area has a plethora of options.
The Brick, Biscotti%26#39;s, Mossfire, Crush and a few others are really good, (the Brick being my favorite).
