Thanksgiving Week?

we will be there nov. 18-25, are the parks going to be really crowded?? im not worried about dinner reservations or anything of that nature. i am just worried about the lines for all the rides. we will be visiting universal and IOA, MK and MGM. thanks

Thanksgiving Week?

The first part of your week won%26#39;t be too bad, but beginning on probably Wednesday, Nov. 22nd, you%26#39;ll definitely start to see an increase in the crowds.

Do as many theme parks before Thanksgiving day as you possibly can.

Thanksgiving Week?

From the 23rd on it will be like summer attendance. I highly reccommend staying clear of the M.K. during that time. Also you must get up early and have a fastpass strategy to minimize waiting. I do not have any experience at universal and ioa during busy periods. Be advised that(if you haven%26#39;t been) ioa is very compact and can get crowded quickly. Also the parking garage is about a ten minute walk to the gates.

Jennie,

Concur with the advice you have received. Go hit MK before the 23rd. Attendance will spike from 20,000 to 60,000 in those few days (Thanksgiving is the 2nd busiest time). The Universal Express passes during Thanksgiving were sold out back in Feb/March so you will be out of luck trying to get them if you haven%26#39;t already purchased one. Might want to pick up the unoffical guide to walt disney world....provides alot of insight on how to maximize your time and minimize your waiting in line time.

As crowded as the Disney parks will be starting the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, since the Universal Express Plus Passes have already sold out, you might prefer going to Universal earlier in the week, and doing Disney when it%26#39;s busy. Disney%26#39;s Fastpass is free to all guests, so as long as you get to the parks when they open to make the best use of it, you%26#39;ll have a chance of getting into a few good attractions with a smaller wait, and have time between to enjoy the rest of the park. At Universal, you might spend hours in line for just a few rides and miss most of the park.

Well maybe the solution is simple. Do Un. Studios the 19th, IOA the 20th, M.K. the 21st, A.K. the 22nd, and then you%26#39;ve got Epcot and Disney Studios to manage the last three days. If you have Park Hopper Passes you might want to split your days at Epcot and Dis. Studios. Also be aware of extra magic hours. If you are not staying at a Disney resort, stay clear of any park that offers A.M. EMH

Just a quick question I will be there 18th Nov - 2nd Dec - when does the thanksgiving crowds subside i.e is it after the Thanksgiving weekend ?

thanks for any help

Yes, the Thankgiving weekend crowds will begin to subside on Sunday, November 26th. After that day, the holiday crowds should be gone and all you%26#39;ll have left is the ';normal'; attendance.

Thanks for this - hopefully do DC at somepoint over thanksgiving then to help keep away from the crowds

I am going November 17-25. I looked on Touring Plans.com %26amp; the best days crowdwise were the 18th %26amp; 19th for Disney. The rest of the days, I will be mostly doing Universal parks. I bought Universal 2 day 2park tickets that came with 3 extra days for a total of 5 consecutive days.

Since I can get express passes for some of the Universal days, I decided to do MK on the 18th. We will do IA on the 19th starting with the Spiderman Breakfast there. Rest on the 20th. US on the 21st. Do whatever rides we loved again on the 22nd at both IA %26amp; US.

The 23rd is ThanksGiving. We are staying clear of the Parks, hanging by the hotel pool (weather permitting) and ordering Thanksgiving up to our villa at HGVC.

Friday will be for whatever else we decide to do. Waterpark, outlets or whatever we decide.

Jenniebcmb, Since you will be arriving a day later, you could follow a similar itinerary.

You don%26#39;t say what time you are arriving, but if you are arriving early enough, you could do MGM the day you arrive since it doesn%26#39;t take a whole day. You can then do MK on the 19th. And Universal the rest of the days. If your budget permits, you can purchase express passes for Universal that will allow you to avoid long lines.

Have fun!!!
