Hi all,
Going to Key West on the 19th and plan to do snorkeling while I%26#39;m there. Any advise which are the best. I saw a few prior posts and was still unsure which to choose, can you help.
By the way PJK, I%26#39;m also from NJ.
Thanks

Which id the best snorkel in Key West? How bout them Jets 8-(
The general answer is that all of the snorkeling trips do a good job so all you have to do is find the one that best fits your schedule and maybe the type of ship.
There are morning and early afternoon snorkels that generally cost about $35.00 per person, and a later afternoon snorkel / sunset sail combo which costs about the same.
And there are all-day trips which board about 9:30 and come back at 4:00 and which include lunch and a kayak trip as well as a snorkel stop.
There is also a two-snorkel trip on the Stars %26amp; Stripes but Captain Don has been talking of retiring for a number of years so I%26#39;m not sure of the status of this ship. And there is the Reef Express which is a power boat that makes two snorkel stops.
The ones that I do ...
The Floridays for an afternoon snorkel, partly because of how nice the boat is, a relatively small, single-hulled ship that goes out of the Hyatt Dock. It%26#39;s 45.00 last time I did it.
The Caribbean Spirit for the snorkel / sunsset sail combo. She goes out of the Bight, and costs IIRC 35.00 but there is a 2.00 off coupon on their web page. A good alternative is the Fury.
And the Sebago Island T%26#39;ing all-day trip. It%26#39;s more expensive than the others but one of the most fun trips you can do. They state $77.00 plus tax, but you can get $5.00 off for pre-booking. An alternative to this is the Danger Charter. Pretty much the same trip but on a small sailboat instead of a cat.
And I always suggest trying to get out to Sand Key since this is one of the best snorkeling spots at the reef. Ask where your trip will try to go.
