We are flying in to fort lauderdale airport on sunday, leave for cruise out of miami on monday. is the marriott aventura too far to stay or is it a better idea to stay at the downtown marriott courtyard in miami? thanks

If you have a preference for Mariott (perhaps frequent travel points?) - I would strongly suggest a Mariott on South Beach (2/Ocean Drive) as the area is going to offer the most bang for the buck. Great atmosphere, lovely beach, good food and drink...

Plus you can wander around in the evening and see a little of the area in safety and comfort.

I%26#39;ve been to Turnberry, which is across the street from the Mariott, and it was a $40 cab ride (in the opposite direction of the Port of Miami) from FLL. Aventura Mall has a few nice restaurants, but if you%26#39;re not taking a fixed-priced shuttle to the port, I would go with AG%26#39;s suggestion and stay in SOBE.
