saw plenty of these around how good is the quality and is it 6 bucks a night?? didnt have a chance to pop in
motel 6It all depends on the location, and no, none of them are $6/night any more. They are, however, one of the more value priced lodging places.
We%26#39;ve stayed at some Motel 6 locations which were o.k.; just your basic bed and shower room with not many amenities, but at least clean. Then, we%26#39;ve stayed at some which are dumps and drug havens. You just never know what you%26#39;ll get unless you%26#39;ve been in the area before.
One problem we%26#39;ve always had is not enough towels in the room, especially if staying more than one night. Motel 6 never seems to have enough towels.
Another problem is that Motel 6 now allow pets and many times the rooms smell like a wet dog when you go in. I always take a full bottle of Fabreeze with me on vacation just for these rooms.
motel 6Ah Yes, they did used to be $6 per night......long, long ago......I remember we stayed in one when the kids were little......it had a television that would not operate unless you fed it quarters......sad to say, most of the lower end motels (6 and Super8) have become transient housing.......if you really wanted to stay in one, you may want to check with the local police department....they have a handle on which motels are decent.......
that bad eh??
No - not that bad. They fulfill a need for some clients. In British terms, they%26#39;re just a bit below a TravelLodge in quality. But if you%26#39;re travelling from one place to the next then there%26#39;s nothing wrong with them. They almost invariably have an adequate pool and they%26#39;re usually clean, if slightly threadbare.
I wouldn%26#39;t consider staying in one for more than a couple of nights, because I%26#39;d like to spread out and put stuff away in wardrobes and that%26#39;s not their thing. But arrive at 6pm, cases in the room, go and have a quick swim and chill, shower and go out for dinner and then bed and off for breakfast in the morning and back on the road? Fine.
There used to be a range of these chains named after their prices - hence Motel 6 and Super 8. There used to be a Something 9 and sadly the chain called Sixpence Inns wasn%26#39;t named after the price.
