Disney World grocery

We are going to DisneyWorld in 3 weeks. We would like to buy bottled water, food, etc to have on hand. We will not have a car. Has anyone used a grocery service delivered to DW resorts? Or, would I be better off with renting a car for a couple of hours?

Disney World grocery

The one I%26#39;ve heard the most positive things about is Garden Grocer. They will deliver directly to the resort, have a wide variety of merchandise, and a reasonable delivery fee. You can check them out at gardengrocer.com.

However, you can get the basics at any of the DVC resorts, at a competitive price (especially if you consider the delivery fees of an outside delivery or the price of renting a car). If you go to the Epcot resorts area, both the Boardwalk and the Beach Club have DVC resorts attached to them, and they have a selection of frozen foods, sandwich ingredients, soups, snacks, drinks, breakfast items, etc. There are also two Hess convenience stores on property, one across from Downtown Disney and the other near the Boardwalk resort. They have the typical snacks and drinks of your local convenience store.

There is a Goodings grocery just outside the Downtown Disney resort area, and a Winn Dixie grocery about a half mile from there. You could probably taxi for less than renting a car.

I have to recommend the Garden Grocer also. We used them this summer and their prices were very reasonable.

I would definitely rent a car-check www.hotwire.com,the prices for one day are reasonable and you can pick one up at the Downtown disney hotels. It will give you far more flexibility to go to the Publix or WalMart or the Winn dixie-Goodings is terrific and easily reached but for three weeks,you%26#39;re going to want to buy good supply of snacks and water.

Definately agree with last poster. On our first trip to Orlando we tried to do without a car and lasted two days before we went into a local Hertz office, paid over the odds and hired a car for the remainder of our trip. Even places %26#39;at the gates of Disney%26#39; are in fact a few miles from the entry to the parks. With no car you will be confined to DW area and there is so much more to Orlando than that. You will probably spend nearly as much on taxis and on grocery deliveries as would pay for a hire car.
