Can you suggest the best character dining: I feel li mted to do only those that have Mickey there for my three sons, I wish Buzz Lightyear or Sully was valaible somewhere. We%26#39;re thinking either Liberty Tree, Garden Grill or Chef Mickeys?
Best Character Dining Experience
Character Meals are my speciality O%26#39;Reilly, our family has gone to everyone over the years and we love all of them! Well with the exception of Restaurantosaurus at the Animal Kingdom, not crazy about that one. All three of the ones you listed are great choices! Since you%26#39;ll probably be eating dinner at Epcot and Magic Kingdom I would book both the Liberty Tree and The Garden Grill as they both offer good meals with even more photo opportunities! Chef Mickey%26#39;s is a great breakfast choice. If I had to pick a favorite our families would have to be The Liberty Tree Tavern.
Best Character Dining Experience
I went to Liberty Tree Tavern on my recent trip simply for the food choices and was not one bit disappointed. Even with two adults only at the table, the characters all came around more than once to visit us during our meal. The food was simply wonderful too.
I%26#39;ve also heard wonderful things about Chef Mickey%26#39;s, but I%26#39;ve never attended that one.
Hi O%26#39;Reilly, you didn%26#39;t mention age of your children but when my boys were 3 or 4 we ate breakfast at Crystal Palace in MK, food was good and they loved Pooh and TIgger. You have a great idea though to have a character meal that appeals to the boys. Don%26#39;t think you can go wrong w/Chef Mickey%26#39;s either.
Enjoy.
Chef Mickey%26#39;s is great! You can do breakfast there or make it an early lunch. They seat until 11:30 I believe. The characters come around several times and they do a little dance show every 15 minutes or so.
If your boys want to meet Buzz Lightyear, hang out by the Carousel of Progress (across from the Buzz Lightyear ride). When we were there Buzz made lots of appearances in that area.
Thank you - I have Garden Grill / Libert Tree booked and I%26#39;m waiting for a final schedule for Chef Mickey%26#39;s with my parents.
I%26#39;m glad I didn%26#39;t book Resturantasaurus like I planned - I can%26#39;t picture it - I thought this was a counter service location.
(Excuse my spelling / grammar last night - it was late!)
Chef Mickeys Breakfast was absolutely magical. So much fun for kids and adults alike. We were never rushed and the characters visited the table countless times.
Chef Mickey%26#39;s is excellent in terms of character interaction and we found it the easiest to find reasonably healthy food-plain scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and salads. Of course, they had pleny of donuts and pancakes too. The servers wee very nice and took lots of pictures of the whole family.
In terms of Buzz-we saw many of the characters at MGM-get a character guide when youcome in-sully was there.
Thanks:As far as being limited to certain characters for my boys - I guess to people who go annually or often enough would like to meet the ';other'; characters besides Mickey-Goofy etc. Are the buffets and family styles with or without character dining around the same price or is there a significant increase for the characters being there?
You have chosen 3 of our favorites. We are actually eating at all 3 of them again on our Christmas trip along with Breakfast with Stitch and Princess Storybook Dinner at Akershush. There is only a couple of $ difference between Character Meals and other family style or buffet dinners which is why we do them. (for our daughter you know!) (yeah right) LOL I love character meals. If you are looking for other fabulous buffets or family style dinners that are very kid friendly then try Boma at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Ohana at the Polynesian Resort. My daughter (age 8) loves both of these and are always included in our trips. Get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge early enough to tour the grounds. They have Zebras, Giraffes, Flamingos and many other animal viewing areas. Your boys would love Ohana. They cook the food on 3ft long skewers in the center of the restaurant and bring them around to your table. Throughout the meal, they play fun games with the kids. They give them brooms and a coconut and have races through the restaurant, they have Limbo contests, they give them shakers and other noise makers and have parades through the restaurant, hula and many other things that the kids have a ball doing. It makes for some great memories and photo ops. The food at both are wonderful. They are both very popular choices so book ASAP.
We really enjoyed Chef Mickey%26#39;s. Food was pretty good and it was a fun morning. Besides it was pretty cool watching the monorail going through the building.
