RCI Resort

I am staying at the Vistana Villages and was wondering how I go about requesting a certain section. SHould I contact the resort directly or contact RCI.?

Thanks

RCI Resort

I don%26#39;t have personal experience with RCI, but if its anything like Interval International, it would probably be best to contact the resort, and only do that a day or two before coming. My understanding is that exchange companies only book the space and the resort assigns the unit. However, from what I%26#39;ve heard, they might not actually get the new list of exchanges until only a few days before check-in, so calling a while ahead, while it probably wouldn%26#39;t work, may not be effective. The best thing is probably to call the resort early if you want, and ask them, but then call them a day or two before checking in. But arriving as early as possible on the day of check-in, so you can be there when check in starts is best, if that is a possibility.

We%26#39;ve done three exchanges with II, and each time made our request at the check-in desk, not any earlier. One was with our home resort (but not our normal week and unit), and we arrived pretty late (9:30 pm), but they gave us exactly what we wanted when we made our request at check-in. Another was with Marriott Grande Ocean at Hilton Head Island. We got there about 4-4:30 pm or so. They had us far back on a low floor, but they changed us at the check-in desk to a higher floor (4th) with an ocean view (though still far back). And at Marriott Ocean Pointe in Palm Beach Shores, we arrived shortly after 5 pm, and obviously wanted an ocean view. The main view wasn%26#39;t perfect (third floor unit; a lot of palm trees in our way), but one of the bedrooms had a great view (we gave that room to our parents) of the beach. It didn%26#39;t hurt that we had exchanged for a 3 bedroom, and at MOP, all the 3 bedroom units were at the front of the buildings closest to the beach. Also, the unit itself was gorgeous.

RCI Resort

RCI don%26#39;t allocate the units - the resort does that.

I usually telephone the resort a week before our reservation and make my request. Only once was I refused my request and was told they were allocated on a first reservation system, but I was allocated what I requested anyway.

Eddie, did not know you were a Timeshare owner. Where do you own, if you still own?
