travelling via Chicago

We are flying out from Manchester next Saturday but going via Chicago. I am really dreading this to the extent it is spoiling the build up to going. Has anyone else travelled via Chicago and if so have you any tips to pass on. any reassurance appreciated

I%26#39;m not sure I understand.

If you%26#39;re worried about having to change planes in Chicago O%26#39;Hare, don%26#39;t. It%26#39;s quite user-friendly. There%26#39;s a little mini-rail system in there that connects up the terminals and everything is sign-posted fine. If you%26#39;re connecting with another flight with the same airline, they%26#39;ll look after you, including helping you if your outbound flight is delayed.

My mum passed through O%26#39;Hare recently with a little bit of anxiety because she%26#39;d never been there and said it was a breeze and she%26#39;s 84!

Hi magic

i have done this a few times travelling with BMI and then down to Tampa with Ted. Geoff is right there is nothing to fear i thought the transfer between terminals was smooth and just about easy to understand. However we did need the information desk. They directed us and I have to say that saved time. You are probably far more intelligent than us but if you have any doubts i would go straight to the info desk on the main concourse. I think it is a good airport and the queues at immigration are getting shorter and the staff are more efficient.

Please don%26#39;t dread it - you will cope easily and it will be a bit more experience in the bank

Hi there, thanks for the replies. I was just concerned about having to go through immigration and then collect our bags (it is a different airline) and go through booking in again. I am sure it won%26#39;t be as bad as what I am imagining! Thanks again for the replies

Just remember not to switch on your phone while queuing up to go through immigration at O%26#39;Hare.....for some reason (unknown to me) they completely freak out....it%26#39;s an absolute no, no.
