Key West In February 3007

It will be our first time and I%26#39;m hoping the weather will be nice. What is the temps usually the beginning of Feb.?

I do want to stay as close to the ';happening'; areas as possible and haven%26#39;t pinned down a place yet. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Lisa

3007?

WOW!

Have you found the fountain of eternal youth?

share the secret!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring a boat. We%26#39;ll be 200 feet under by then!

On the up side... Sloppy Joe%26#39;s will most certainly still be open!

Impressive planning but a tad bit anal retentive don%26#39;t ya think? :-)

we%26#39;ve had our fun with you Lisa. couldn%26#39;t help it.

I was in KW last Feb %26#39;06 (the 2nd-6th for the Superbowl and will be this upcoming Feb %26#39;07 2-6 as well) and actually it was pretty cool at night (one night, 61 degrees !) BRRR

Usually the days will be in the upper 70%26#39;s and sunny, the eve%26#39;s mid/high 60%26#39;s low 70%26#39;s.. The record high in Feb is 85, record low is 45. Also good news is that it%26#39;s the least rainy month and hurricane season has passed.

One constant is that the ice cubes are 29-30 degrees year round and drink those frozen mud-slides SLOWLY,

When in town with my wife we stay at B%26amp;B%26#39;s; our favorite is the Francis St Bottle inn. Great location (wethinks), great house and great staff . When I go with her brother (good buddie) we stay at the best western hibiscus. Less romantic but a good location, pool and decent rates.

Book soon. The super bowl is in fl which doesn%26#39;t matter to KW however the airlines and car rental companies will take the opportunity to raise their rates. the whole supply/demand thing.

Make your plans now !

chill,

K

My wife and I are a healthy 57 years old. We visited KW, for the first time, the last week of last February. We stayed at the Curry House on Fleming St. My only complaint is that the shower in our room (#6) was ultra small. I%26#39;ve since learned that there are 2 rooms with a decent size shower. Some rooms have private baths and some share. Location was okay, but a tad closer to the action would%26#39;ve been a little better. It was about 5 blocks off Duvall. I think right now their most expensive room is $219 plus tax. You get a real breakfast--one day an omlet, one day pancakes and sausage, one day bacon and eggs, and etc. They have a nice heated in ground pool. Complimentary wine every afternoon. I would stay there again, but it%26#39;s always nice to try someplace else.

Next February we are staying at the Key West Bed and Breakfast on Williams Street. Room has a queen size bed and private bath, and rate for a 5-night stay is $195 plus 11.5% tax. I heard they have a nice continental breakfast. This inn is ranked #1 here at Trip Advisor. Note: There are no TV%26#39;s anywhere in the inn. There is internet access for your laptop.

I%26#39;m no expert, but I%26#39;d say get something close to Duvall St., Mallory Square, and the Harbor. Key West is not that big. If you ride a bike then that%26#39;s the way to go. Some inns rent them. We got ours from an outfit that delivers them to where you%26#39;re staying. We drove from Miami. We parked our car and it never moved until it was time to leave.

Well, you can%26#39;t predict the weather that far in advance (2007 or 3007) but, we were there the first week in Feb. in 2005 %26amp; 2006 (and missed the meet-up with Keyster, darn it). Both of those years we had nice sunny days in the middle 70%26#39;s and we had hard rain and temps in the 60%26#39;s. Sooo, this year we scheduled a little later in the month. This won%26#39;t guarentee better weather but we%26#39;re hoping for a little more sun. BTW, we didn%26#39;t like being in KW during Super Bowl. The BF had to watch it and it felt like it took a day off our trip, I guess because it wasn%26#39;t a Key West specific activity.

I did make a mistake and hit the wrong numbers! I wanted to type Feb. 2007!!! Sorry- but you all did have fun with it. I%26#39;m a planner but not that good, ha ha ha

I%26#39;m really hoping to book it later but trying to use frequent flier miles and not really having a good time with it. My other choice is early May but the weather here in Phila. is getting nice then so why bother??

Pier House looked nice and considered booking that...what do you think?
