Hotel recommendation, please!

My hubby and I will be spending one night in the Boca area for a concert at Minzer Park. We will be driving down to Key West the following day. We would like to stay at a moderate hotel that is close to the beach, fun bars, etc., but also not too far from the venue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Maybe you should go to the Deerfield Beach Forum and check the reviews of the Embassy Suites there. It is a beach community just south of Boca ( Mizner is in southern Boca). Not all Deerfield hotels are on the beach, but ES is and is walking distance to a few little bars (Whales Rib, JB%26#39;s on the Beach etc.) The only ';moderate '; hotel near the beach in Boca I can think of is the Bridge Hotel and while it is near the beach, I%26#39;m not sure about access from there.

There is also a Howard Johnson%26#39;s on the beach in Deerfield, but the reviews are quite mixed - I think it may badly need renovation inside.

Deerfield Beach would be a pleasant drive of only 2-3 miles to Mizner I%26#39;d estimate.

For the proximity to Mizner Park I would recommend Boca Raton Plaza Hotel and Suites; 2901 N Federal Hwy; Boca Raton, FL 33431. The other hotel in the same area on the same street is called Quality Inn. See reviews for both on this website.

I can tell you that both hotels look clean and presentable from outside. You know the type: no thrills, reliable rest stops.

Both hotels are less than 5 minutes driving from Mizner Park. The cost should be around $100 or less per night. I think that rates include breakfast. It is also close to the beach, but not waterfront. You would have to drive less than 5 minutes. There is free parking near the beach. Federal highway is a main road, and has a lot of restaurants and bars. Please note that there is not much happening on the beach in Boca ( it is not very commercial). Mizner park is a lot of fun though with restaurants and bars around.

Deerfield beach is not a bad idea. It is further away, may be 10-15 minute drive. There is more happening right on the beach, a few restaurants, shops and bars right on the water. It is a real ';beach town'; feel. As far as I know, Howard Johnson was recently remodeled, but I never stayed there. Deerfield beach is also on the way to Key West when coming from Boca.
