Coral Bay and Sands of Islamorada

Has anyone ever been to either the Coral Bay Resort or the Sands of Islamorada? I realize that they are not ';resorts';. I just want

somewhere semi-secluded and quiet as possible. I also know that with almost all the hotels/motels being on route 1 this might be hard

to find. These two seem lke they may be a little more peaceful

since they%26#39;re smaller. Am I wrong?

Coral Bay and Sands of Islamorada

I%26#39;ve never stayed at either one, but I would suspect that they both would fit the bill. With the exception of the Holiday Isle complex, pretty much every hotel in that part of the Keys is semi-secluded and quiet. Unless you%26#39;re visiting during Bike Week, I think you%26#39;ll find the highway noise to be pretty much a non-issue, especially in those locations.

Coral Bay and Sands of Islamorada

Coral Bay Resort is nice. Family members of mine have stayed there and really enjoyed it. Their dock has a beautiful view of the sunsets and the landscaping is nice. They have cute lovebirds and they even leave out free fish pellets for you to feed the parrot fish that live there. Vicki and Shane, the two people who run it are very professional. It%26#39;s a quiet neighborhood, nice for evening walks, but be prepared that families with children do stay at the resort sometimes.

Coral Bay is very nice. We stayed there a couple years ago and it is quiet. Some units are efficiencies so you can cook %26amp; will have fridge %26amp; microwave. Owners are very nice %26amp; take good care of the place.

I am not familiar with the Sands.

There is also the Carribean Resort. A little more expensive %26amp; off the beaten path. It is gated so unless you are staying there you can%26#39;t get in. They have a web site. They also have a small motel next door that is cheaper but the units are older and not as nice as the resort. but you have access to their pool %26amp; boat dock. It is on the altlantic side so you won%26#39;t get the sunsets you get at Coral Bay. Also Carribean is within walking distance to some restaurants %26amp; shopping Coral Bay is not.

Coral Bay is away from the shops %26amp; restaurants on Islamorada so you%26#39;ll have to drive a few miles if you plan to eat out or go shopping. It was quiet when we were there last week but then only a few people were there at the same time. The grounds are very nice but our room was terrible. Maybe other rooms are better than the one we had.
