American Airlines

Not really the right forum but we are flying from Australia by Qanta and then using A.A. internally to get to Orlando. Any body have views on A.A. ( guess as long as it gets there its ok)

American Airlines

AA is a little better than average, if only because their seating layouts are a little more generous than most other US carriers.

Otherwise, it%26#39;s average -- probably get you there on time, probably won%26#39;t lose your bags, and probably will have decent service and decent employees.

This is one case where average is a good thing!

American Airlines

Hello clintjake,

We fly American all the time, we%26#39;ve only had one problem flying home from Cancun a 5 hour delay due to not having a full crew and we had to wait for them other than that we haven%26#39;t had any problems.

Used AA on various international %26amp; domestic flights - always found them to be efficient. Some of their cabin crew are ';past their sell-by date'; and as such are not the most gracious or helpful in the world.

AA is good for long trips as they have the widest seats. Enrol in their Advantage program on www.aa.com, to also get some airmiles. If it is not busy, you might also be upgraded. You can choose your seats before you go. It is not too bad. You cna go to Seatguru.com to find out what the best seats are e.t.c. and also check www.lovemyseat.com. Good luck

Just be aware that no food is provided on AA, except a limited amount of food for purchase. In the mornings that is usually some form of muffin for a couple of dollars. Later in the day they offer a ';snack box'; for $5 which is generally an assortment of pre packaged ';junk food.'; Thry also announce that they have a limited supply and might posibly run out, though I saw few purchases being made on my flight .

They provide nothing else, not even peanuts or pretzels. So, if you have a long flight , be sure you grab a bite in the airport or pick up something to bring onboard.

Thats is not correct - If it is a long distance flight you will be served food. We were give food and drinks twice on our flight from London to Orlando. We were also given snacks in between.

On international flights , yes that is correct. But if your AA flight is entirely within the US there is no food- I believe this poster indicated that he was flying Quantas to the US and AA once he got here to travel ';internally.'; On that basis I think my info is correct, though I agree that yours is correct for those flying AA from a non USA origination point. We flew AA both Florida to San Francisco and Florida to Denver recently and in neither direction was there any food or snack service except for the lucky folks in first class- all eighteen of them- the flight attendant even scurried through our economy cabin with a chocolate chip cookie partially wrapped in a napkin that was apparently the dessert served in First Class- it%26#39;s a wonder someone didn%26#39;t assault her to get it!

Here%26#39;s the exact info copy/pasted from the AA Website-

Main Cabin Snack Service

American offers you the option to purchase snacks on more than 650 daily flights! On U.S. and Canadian flights, that are three hours or longer* and depart from 5:00 a.m. to 9:59 a.m., you may purchase a delicious muffin for $2. On transcontinental, Alaska and Hawaii flights**, a fresh sandwich or wrap is also available for $5. Boxes filled with an assortment of tasty brand name snacks are available on American from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for $4. And, on transcontinental, Alaska, and Hawaii flights**, a fresh sandwich, wrap or salad is available for $5. Also look for $4 snack packs on American Eagle and AmericanConnection flights in the continental U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

I%26#39;ve flown with them afew times internally in the U.S they always had quick pleasant check in staff and i never had any delays with them. Have to agree the staff were a bit hit and miss though.

On one flight a few years back i got to listen to them talking loudly about details of how they had spent their weekends. Someone in front had to wait ten minutes for them to finish their conversation before they answered the cabin crew call button. We%26#39;d paid in advance for a meal on the flight (it was a four or five hour flight i think,) and only got a bag of pretzels each. And when one of our party didn%26#39;t have a buckle on their seatbelt they were told to tie a knot in it! The least friendly cabin crew i%26#39;d ever encountered were on that flight but other times i%26#39;ve had no problem with them. Like every airline i guess, they all have their good and bad staff. I just hope the ';tie a knot'; lady has retired.
