We staying two nights at the Tropirock, pre- and post- our trip to the Bahamas. We%26#39;ve never stayed there before, and love seafood. Are there any good restaurants but budget-priced (not touristy) in walking distance, or via water taxi, in that area? 15th St. Fishery is way too expensive for us. Thanks!
And are there any good brewpubs/beer bars in that area?
Cheap but good restaurants near the Tropirock?Can%26#39;t think of a brewpub, but both Mc Sorley%26#39;s Pub and the Parrot are a short walk to the north and serve plenty of beer . The Parrot serves food which is pretty reasonable and there is also Cafe Bluefish in the same area. which has happy hour specials. In the same area is Primanti Brothers, a branch of the Pittsburg place, which is pretty.. um.. rustic inside but has great pizza and reasonable breakfasts- and I think it is open 24 hrs- or if not, pretty close. If I%26#39;ve forgotten anyplace your friendly innkeeper Mick will surely know what they are.
Cheap but good restaurants near the Tropirock?I can recommend the Cafe Bluefish it will be my first stop when I hit Fort Lauderdale in April. It will depend on when you are in FL we were there in July last year and McSorleys kitchen wasn%26#39;t open because it was off season also I don%26#39;t remember seeing anyone eating in the Parrot Lounge but I can%26#39;t say for definate that they were not serving food. Primanti Brothers was busy all day and as Lulu has suggested it is a bit ';rustic'; the food was great and sooooo reasonable. Also in that little area there is Thai on the Beach ( as the name suggests it sells Thai food) we didn%26#39;t try it but it appeared to be immensly popular. The Bluefish, Parrot, McSorleys and the Bikini Bar are all within walking distance of each other and are all good beer drinking bars with a good mix of locals and tourists who expect to fit in with the locals. Hope you enjoy it we did and will again!
