Has anyone rented a car from Budget?

I have had a good quote for a compact car with a free upgrade to an intermediate with Budget. I am told they are on-site at Orlando International Airport. Is this right? We usually rent through Dollar or Alamo who are literally just across a little road from the rental desk in the airport. Are you able to choose your car with Budget as with Alamo (i.e. choose from the row of your category of car) or do they allocate the car to you like Dollar do?

Have you found them a good company to deal with and have you had any experience of upgrading at the check in desk?

Budget are on site at the airport. No they allocate the car. Watch out for extra charges on returning the car. This year they charges us extra insurance????? and had to fight to get the money back.

We had the same experience two years ago when renting through Budget - the extra insurance charge that you decline in the beginning when initially signing the contract, but they still charge you an extra couple of hundred bucks for it. You do indeed have to fight to get it back!!! Not worth the hassle - much better at Alamo and better deals to! Good luck!

Thank you both for your replies. That%26#39;s it, decision made, I%26#39;m going to book with Alamo as usual. It was just that the quote was so good it was tempting but not if that is how Budget treat you.

I usually also do Alamo but just last week in Atlanta I used Thrifty MANNNNNNN I willl never do that again !!!! Lots of hidden fees and way off airport lane. I would stick with Alamo
