We%26#39;re going to Orlando the first week of January. I am interested in staying at Animal Kingdom for a couple of days. Does one need a room with a view to see the animals or can you watch them from other areas in the resort? We%26#39;re trying to figure out how best to buget.
Animal Kingdom ResortHi, we stayed at AKL last year - what a fantastic hotel - you will have a great time! We did book a Savannah view room and did see lots of animals from our balcony - we had giraffes come up really close!! However, there are so many places to view the animals around the hotel so if you did not a have savannah view room you will not be disappointed. They were guides at certain points on hand to talk about the animals and you get to watch some of the animals being given their dinner. I would not say that you need a room with a view - it鈥檚 just nice to be able to sit out in private and watch the animals but hey who goes on holiday to sit in the room all day? We did spend a lot of time in the grounds of the hotel - we got to meet so many different people as there are lots of communal areas. If you do go you must try Boma and Jiko to eat. Have a great holiday.
Animal Kingdom ResortYou can see the animals from the public areas and there are walking paths. It is a neat hotel . We really like Boma, one of restaurants at the resort.

It%26#39;s an absolutely fantastic hotel, one of the few at Disney that is worth the price-and hsa been stated, there are lots of areas to see the animals from if you don%26#39;t have a savanna room. And at that time of year,it never hurts to sweetly ask for an upgrade. The staff is very interesting to chat with and will tell you about their native countries and/or the animals so I think you%26#39;ll enjoy it. The only drawback is that it is kind of remote so you might want to stock up on snacks and water before you get there-the dining options are somewhat limited.
